Known Application Issues

There are thousands of open source applications available. The Moblin team has installed and tested all of the applications that you see listed in the Garage catalog. However, there were some minor issues that were encountered, and they are listed below.

General Issues

  • Sometimes an application that you choose from one category installs itself into a different category on your netbook or even into multiple categories. So, if you can't find the app you just installed, try searching for it.
  • On a similar note, sometimes the name of an installed application is different than what you saw in the installer list. For example, the GIMP Image Editor in the Moblin Application Installer list appears on your netbook as Image Editor. If in doubt, visit the Moblin Garage website for details on each application.
  • Some applications have duplicate icons, such as "Banshee media player and the Moblin media player."
  • The applications are not necessarily in alphabetical order.

Adobe Reader
The Preferences dialog box lets you define page layout and customize the reader in several ways. However, the dialog box is a set size, and on some netbook screens, only the very top of the OK and Cancel buttons may be visible.
Inkscape
On some netbooks, to make the main window fit on the screen, drag the toolbar out at the lower left of the screen.
